Thoughts

Throughout our good, mormon girl lives, we have been persuaded to want to be mommies. We're taught how to cook yummy things, to clean our houses spotless, and to love each little beaming child that we interact with. We have countless lessons in church about how to be a good wife, and good mother, and still manage all the other crazy things in life. I never understood the "why"exactly. In fact, I became immune to all the many many lessons. Until I met him...

I am so happy to be a mother. Even the snotty nose, constant whining, getting up early, diaper-bag-full-of-everything-I-own, and drab wardrobe couldn't keep me from doing what I love. I am SO grateful that we were able to get pregnant so quickly, and for an easy pregnancy. I am SO grateful for a supportive husband who was ready for the challenge. I am SO grateful for a healthy, happy (most of the time) boy. My heart melts when he smiles at me first thing in the morning and last thing every night. I just don't know if I could describe it perfectly enough so you could feel it through the computer screen. It's just great! And I am SO SO grateful that this feeling, how ever you describe it, lasts FOREVER!

(Know how movies bring on certain feelings? Juno..alright movie, but it makes me grateful for what we have)

Kind of funny that you bring up Juno...we watched it last night and thought it was horrible...but I do understand the idea of making you feel certain ways. I am definitely greatful for family...for marriage...and for the opportunity to really UNDERSTAND and cherish this time in life. Thanks so much for your beautiful sentiments...you worded them perfect!

It's crazy to be a mom but I totally understand that feeling. The only thing I have found that tops it is when you kids loves each other as much as you love them. I thought the feeling of knowing Layla loved me was the best but knowing that she loves her sister and is always so concerned for her totally reminds me what families are all about! I can't wait until you can enjoy the fun and crazyiness of having KIDS! (but trust me enjoy having one while you can!)

Thanks for sharing! I needed to read that right now! I know exactly how you feel - and you don't know how it's possible, but you're heart grows to love another one just as much! I love you!
