Night One: The Unwrapping

We finally did it. I made it through one night without crying or giving in. He made it one night without screaming for an hour. And he made it without his wrap!

Since he was born, Isaac has had to be wrapped. Once he got bigger, we had to special order one that he couldn't hoodini his way out of, and it basically looks like a straight jacket. He's become way too dependant on it and I've known for awhile now that he needs to be weened. We've tried a couple of times, without success. But lately, he's rolled over while he's in the wrap which isn't safe one bit. So last night we went cold turkey. And I never want to have another baby again because the whole getting up every two hours thing gets old REAL fast!

But we made it and we're on the road to success! I wonder what tonight will bring...

I am so not looking forward to letting Kason sleep outside his wrap. None of us will get sleep. I'm glad Isac did somewhat okay. He is so cute! Good Luck with tonight. You'll have to let me know how it goes.

Congrats on the first wrapless night hopefully tonight will just be even beter. I have to say the first three days are pretty touch and go but after that it is all down hill. Good luck and I promise it gets better and is totally worth it in the end!

GOod luck. I remember trying to wean Braxton just from waking up in the night to eat and it was hard just letting him cry himself back to sleep. I felt like a horrible mother, but now it was the best thing because I haven't gotten up with him for at least a month now. He just likes to wake up at 6 or 7, but I'll take it for a good night sleep. Good luck. He sure is getting big.

Way to be brave and risk getting no sleep! I hope it goes well for you. I think it is just as hard, if not harder, for us parents to be weaned from these things as the baby. I cried when we tried to get McKyla to sleep in her own bed, but boy am I glad she sleeps there now!
