Tag by Cory

Tag rules: (1) You link back to the person who tagged you. (2) post these rules on your blog. (3) share six unimportant things about yourself. (4) tag six random people at the end of your entry (5) let the tagged people know by leaving a comment on their blogs. (6) enjoy the results.

Well, I have been tagged by our friend Joy and I have put off doing this for quite some time. Not that I am ashamed to share six unimportant things - rather, I just don't get into this whole blogging thing. For those of you who do like the blogging thing, and for those of you who blog stalk (like my wife), I hope that you enjoy my unimportant life. Here goes:

1) When I fold laundry and I am folding t-shirts, I like to be OCD and make sure that the little hems around the sleeves and at the bottom are not rolled up. I don't know why, but it has to be that way!
2) I like to do things that I can look back at and see what I've accomplished. For example, the last few days at work, I've been posting signs and things like that around some of the parks. I enjoy looking at those signs and seeing them hanging straight and looking professional. It might seem like tedious work, but I enjoy it. Another example, when I mow the grass at the parks, I have to pause sometimes and make sure that my lines are straight and that everything still looks good. There's that OCD again.
3) Ask my wife, I like sports. I enjoy a good basketball game whenever one is on. I don't get into the less popular sports much, but I have to admit that I made sure that I was around on Saturday afternoon to watch the 140th running of the Belmont Stakes. I thought that I was going to witness history when Big Brown won the Belmont to become the first Triple Crown winner in 30 years. Now, don't be fooled, I have no clue about what horse racing is all about besides the first horse across the finish line wins. I was a little disappointed that Big Brown finished last. Maybe next year, eh?
4) I get nervous sometimes when I stay at home with Isaac while Heather is at work or doing other things. Let's just say that if God interviewed us for these parenting positions and the question was asked "What kind of experience do you have with little kids?" that would have been the part where I would have lost the job. But, a father's love conquers all...or something like that. We get by when it's just the two of us (we usually end up watching some kind of game, or a horse race).
5) I love driving my (well, my parent's) blue Chevy Astro van. I love all the little tricks that you have to know in order to open and close doors and get the heat going and all that fun stuff. I probably look like a pedophile driving around, but the van gets me from place to place. (If anyone would like a ride, I'm only charging 50 cents - you can't get that good of a deal at the Carousel!)
6) My wife thought of this one. I like to eat and one of my favorite things is the little crusties that are created on some dishes. I think I get that from my father. But, like burnt cheese or the crusties on the side of the pan, I love that stuff! Heather will save that stuff for me, and you can usually find me taking my fork or spoon and scraping the side of the pan to get the crusties after dinner is over. It might sound weird, but hey, that's why it's unimportant, right?

So there you have it. Think of me what you will, but I know who I am and why I am here. To enjoy hanging signs and eating crusties! I guess I'm supposed to tag some people. Ummm...Lily Belle Meynders, Stella Carlson, Melanie Busch, Riley Shurtz, Morgan Capener, and Dave Richardson (my in-law father, as my in-law sister Hannah would say).

I admit I laughed out loud, and I don't do that often. It may be unimportant, but you do have a sense of humor and your OCD remind me of your "in-law father". Can't wait to see what he writes...sometime:)

Hey Cor,
That was really fun! I didn't know some of those things about you, like the whole OCD thing - definitely not like Preston on that one!! However, I don't know if all you Bird boys have a love for dinner crusteez or not, but that's Preston's favorite part too - Crazy!! Thanks for playing!
