Tonight we threw a little party for our favorite one year old! Everyone who was invited showed up, and we were especially grateful to those who drove up from Utah to come celebrate with us!Here are a few highlights of the evening:

This is how opening all of his presents went. Basically Isaac just watched while the girls helped. Thank goodness for older cousins who know what they're doing!

The two cakes. One was free from Albertson's and the other I made, because you can't not make a homemade cake on a birthday!Now for those of you unable to attend, this seriously was the best part. Here's how the cake recieving went.

wow what a party! Man you are a good blogger. I have tonz of pictures and stories but I really dont just sit down and do it. Partly cause I am afraid of the reaction of a certain someone...john and I were the incredibles last year. our costumes werent as good though. thanks for letting me make cookies with you. I miss you like crazy and it was good to get out. I swear after a while you forget how to socialize.
So my question is: how did the cleanup go? Isaac was so cute, I could have watched him eat that cake for hours! Thanks for having us over, it was a great party! (And even though McKyla was shy and a bully at times, she was talking about Isaac and his mess all night) =)So she had fun too!

I can't believe that he's one! It seems like just a few days ago we both had newborns...yikes! He looks like a happy mess, good for you for tackling that cleanup job. :)

You have been one busy lady! Love the cookier and costumes, but they just don't compare to the messy birthday boy!
You sure have lots of little friends... that's so neat. Happy Turning the Big 1 little man. He looks cute as ever, and I love that you let him GO AT IT (but with just half the cake)... and he still managed to eat the whole thing (or smear).
