Last night was our ward christmas party/ ugly sweater contest. I've always wanted to do one of these, so I headed off to DI to find something hideous. Unfortunately, it was pretty picked over, but I managed to score these lovely articles of clothing:
One girl in our ward actually didn't know it was an ugly sweater contest. Once her husband told her she said "so thats why Heather is wearing that DISGUSTING sweater!" Someone even commented that we looked like Napolean and Deb. (Should I take offense?)
The Hale's won, and with good reason.
And santa made a surprise visit, which I'm sure Isaac could have done without. He was too little last year to even worry about it, but this year he screamed bloody murder at the sight of him. I think it's ironic that it's "the happiest time of the year" yet we make our poor little kids do this!

HAHA I love it!! That would be so fun, as long as you don;t get caught wearing a swater given as gift by some one else. :) I could imagine that happening. :D
Poor little Isaac was so cute while scared of Santa! It brings back memories of exactly how Kyla was last year with him too. Poor guy...hope he doesn't have nightmares! :)
That is awesome. I love the sweaters. Adi did the exact same thing as Issac her fist Christmas. Poor kids. It sure makes good memories to laugh about later though.

I love that you thought to bring me homemade hot coco-I would love that. Actually, I would just love to see you. Remember a long time ago, how you gave me that Willow carving/ figurine? Well, whenever I have a struggle or a hard time, I look at it and it just reminds me of how grateful I was and am for a friend like you.
Thanks so much Heather! I'm just being an immature brat and slightly ungrateful about our whole situation, but dangit...I just hate it. hahahaha

oh how sad he cried! My brother was scared to death of Santa also. I guess it was probably the whole "he sees you when your sleeping" bit. Who knows.
Too many people in my ward are antisanta to allow any sort of santa appearance at our ward party. there is a 5 year old in my primary class whose family doesn't do santa and it is very obvious by his comments in class that he feels left out. Sad day :(
i want to have an ugly sweater party SO bad, but our house is too small:( someday...
you guys looked great, I love how Cory tucked his in, and how isaac is totally freaking out on Santa!
