Happy love day!

Yesterday Cory and I celebrated Valentines day a little early, because we're watching our friends kids today so they can spend all day lovin' on each other- childless!

We have a tradition that on this day of love we make each others gifts rather than buy them. This year I was just plain stumped on what to make him and the creative juices were not flowin'. I found this place in town called Color Me Mine where you can paint pottery and it was perfect because I didn't have to resort to some silly, last minute picture frame, and still get credit for making something masterful.

The evening started off with a much needed haircut and alone time. I got home and the sweetheart surprised me with this LOVELY orchid! I just love orchids and it's added a touch of spring in this rainy, gloomy weather we've been having.

Now I don't know if you've ever painted pottery but it's definitely an awesome date! I mean, no little fingers to touch and break the ceramics, you get to paint each other gifts from the heart, all by romantic dim lighting. I mean, just think of the conversations! It was bliss I tell ya.

FYI: Masking (if you have no idea what you're doing) takes forever!

Now we're no Van Gogh, but we thought our pieces turned out pretty sweet! They'll look 10x better once they've been fired. Cory made me a decorative serving dish that really looks better than my silly camera shows.

And I made him a large mug/cereal bowl.

And since I was up at 6 with a sick kiddo, I decided to make my ever famous (pink, heart shaped) pancakes with berry sauce! And this day is going to keep getting better!

Happy I love you day! Hope yours is full of sweet things!

We have a Color Me Mine down in Provo and every time I pass it, I keep thinking how fun it would be to take Madalyn - now you've really inspired me! And I'm super impressed with Cory's artistic skills - cute serving dish!

Looks like fun! I dont think I could get Jeff to do something like that. And even if I did, he wouldn't have done that great of a job.
