It's a date!

Today Cory had to work- again. Last week he worked a total of 73 hours and this week will probably come close. Needless to say we have missed him around here! At least he's getting paid hourly as an intern and will be compensated for his late, late hours, unlike most of the people there who are sallary. Bummer. But anyway-

I was destined to not dwell on the fact that we were without a husband/daddy again today, so Isaac and I went on a date! There is a local museum here that has tons of old houses, previously on city property, that they have restored with time pieces to match. It was SO neat! The best part was there was hardly anyone there so Isaac could run around freely. I took my time to check out the insides of the houses while he played with dirt, rocks and sticks and I didn't worry about him once!

He was interested....sometimes.

For all my photographer friends- I thought about you! Could you imagine taking pictures with these babies?!

He LOVED the train. This picture doesn't do it justice, but this choo-choo was ginormous!

They had most of the exibits blocked off by glass, and it looks like sometimes you are able to go inside when they open the doors and have tour guides. All the rooms were so beautiful and filled with such character! I loved the "old" smell, seeing the yellowing pages of books, the beautiful (and modest) dresses and the simplicity of life. If I could live any other time it would definitely be early 1900's (or 1940. It would be a tough choice). Evrything was so classy- the people, the furniture, wall paper, even the door hinges:

Oh how I wish sometimes that we lived more like this! And then I think about the modern technology we have and that I can have a baby pain free and get to the grocery store in 5 minutes. Yeah, I'll stick with 2009, thanks.

Whilst I was admiring, he was more interested in finding rolly polly bugs and getting dirty.

On the property they also have a children's museum which was p-e-r-f-e-c-t for this little guy. Now it's nothing like a big city children's museum, but it was pretty fun! They had a whole room dedicated to indians and pioneers. Thats really the only other room we were able to see, because Isaac discovered this place:

He was in HEAVEN! The lights even flashed too. They also had a restaurant, television station, doctor, dentist, jail, puppet theater and a fire station. COOL!

Who doesn't like a man in uniform?!

Drivin' the firetruck.

And to top our date off we went to Baskin Robbins and got ourselves WAY too much ice cream. But it was worth it. So much fun, so many memories, and so many brain freezes!

I love that you never let not having 'daddy' around stop you from having an amazing Saturday! (very admirable by many moms) I love the pict of him on the ground... isn't that the truth that no matter what you show them they'll find something like that the most fun!
