Nothing compares to the simple pleasure of a bike ride. ~John F. Kennedy
Since we have lived with my parents, Isaac and Hannah (my sister,10) are always outside riding bikes. Its a passion they definitely share together. Up and down the hills, racing, seeing who can make the biggest skid mark, weaving through homemade obstacle courses, riding around the neighborhood- you name it. They do it.
One thing they also share is training wheels. You see, when my sister lived in Washington it was always a) too rainy for her to want to ride a bike, b) too hilly to ride a bike, and c) too boring to ride by herself. So she never learned to ride without training wheels. I decided to make them both a deal: if they could each learn by the end of September to ride without training wheels I would take them out to wherever they wanted to eat. They were sold!
And ya know what? They did it!
I started out helping Isaac but ended up not being fast enough to keep up with him. Que grandpa! My little timid Isaac raced up and down that street and eventually got the whole "balance" thing figured out to where he could ride a few seconds on his own.
He fell down a few times but only once did he cry! That my friends is a victory right there! We still need to perfect the balance issue, but we're getting there! And I see Red Robin in our near future!
And as for my sister? Took her a whole 10 minutes to figure it out and now there's no stopping her!
Thanks to the following who made this GREAT night possible:
Goofy grandpa :)
Audrey the dog walker and flower picker (and sometimes cheerleader...when she wasn't distracted)
Grandma the cheerleader/baby whisperer/standby dog walker/camera woman
And mom, the best pep-talk giver there was

I love it! We have been working on the same thing with Ty--and he's super close! Stopping is his main problem. ;-)
So fun! Bella finally showed some interest in riding her bike this summer so we did the same thing! It's fun to see them get so confident! Also where is this? The houses are super cute!
Isn't that the most exciting! Your sweet baby is growing sooo fast!
That is so awesome! Good job isaac!
