Well, apparently some of you didn't know that we are moving to California, and I suppose that I forgot to blog about that little detail. Oops. So, yes, its true. We actually already have (or are in the process) moved! Let me tell you about our little journey...
Our plan was to take our time, pack and clean when we could, and we would leave on Saturday afternoon. On Friday morning, I heard about a "huge" snow storm that was supposed to blow over that night and dump a foot of snow. There was NO way I (and by I, I mean Cory. I refuse to drive period.) was going to drive in the snow. So, at 11am Friday we (and by we I mean me) decided that we would be moving that night. And hardly anything was ready. Luckily we have great friends who watched Isaac and awesome friends who helped us clean and pack for 6 hours straight. At 9pm we finally hauled ourselves outta there. Did I mention all three of us are riding in the uhaul, with our can in tow? Fun huh?
We stayed in Tremonton with Cory's parents during the weekend, and didn't really do a whole lot. We headed down to SLC to see the lights at temple square (I have pictures, but my camera cord is packed away, so you'll just have to wait) and had dinner with the fam on Sunday. Yet again, we heard another part of the storm was supposed to hit on early Monday morning and we weren't too fond of the idea of driving in the snow during morning traffic. AGAIN we gathered all of our things in a jiffy and drove to Orem to stay with my aunt and uncle who had a whole basement waiting for us. How nice!
So where are we moving you ask? I guess I forgot to mention that. Cory has an internship in Bakersfield, CA and we will be there for a semester.
Anyway, back to my story. This morning (it is Monday, right? Sheesh I have lost all track of time) we got to visit with Cory's brother and sister-in-law and our two cute neices and had breakfast. THEN (finally, finally, finally) we packed it up again and left for good. The roads were SO much better than weather.com predicted and I didn't even worry once....until we got to Cedar City. Boy was it a mess all the way to St George, where we are staying tonight. But look, I'm here! We didn't die, or crash, or drive like maniacs even. Tonight we'll stay here, have dinner with some friends, and make the rest of our long journey to CA tomorrow. I'll take some sunshine, PLEASE!
And, if you're still reading this and want to know the rest, well I'll just tell you (mostly because Isaac is napping in our hotel room, and its completly dark and I need something to do. Apparently you do too.)
Unpacking and de-junking will take up Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Cory will be occupied with work the latter two days, just so he can get to know the ropes and become everyone's favorite. Friday and Saturday will consist of driving some more, but this time we will be in a car on our way to my parents house for a long, yet wonderful, two weeks. Two whole weeks filled of sleeping in (thanks mom in advance!), date nights, The Nutcracker and LOTS of visiting with friends. Heavenly, isn't it? I think we deserve it after a bajillion days of driving.
That's all. I'm tired of typing. Pictures will come soon...I hope. (Because posts are boring without pictures!)
