What a fun labor day we had! A friend of mine asked me if I wanted to do a relay race awhile back and it was when I was on my big running kick, so of course I said yes. As the time grew on though, I was less and less interested in running but didn't feel like I could back out so I sucked it up. I was so ill-prepared, had gotten sick a couple days before and honestly looked forward to the day with dread.
To my surprise it was one of my best runs ever! I felt really good through the whole thing and was surprised as mile after mile passed quite quickly. I had told Cory and the kids (and the girl I was to hand off to) to meet me around 8, and I'd probably come in a little later. I'm no fast runner and having never ran on a real trail before figured I'd be slower. Around mile 5.5 I kept looking at my watch because I thought I was going to be 10 minutes early and find no one waiting for me!
Just as Cory pulled up I came around a corner and they ran with me to the exchange spot where Jess, the next runner, had just jumped out of her car and hadn't even pinned her bib on yet. I doubt she even had time to warm up! She rocks!

good for you! Are you going to keep running or give it up now?:)
Way to go! My parents helped with the Marathon this year and that park is so fun isn't it? I bet your kids had a blast.
SO AWESOME!! I am happy it went so well for you!
Good job Heather! Looks hard, but fun!
You go girl! You are awesome!!
You are AWESOME!
How fun! Isn't it funny how we commit to these things, and then as they get closer we think, "What was I thinking?" and then afterwards we're so glad we were committed! Way to be! You are and awesome mormon mom!
